There is a plenty of time for reading and was wondering if we are supposed to
read, reflect and talk about the first two chapters since we have 10 days to the first meeting.:)
Here is something in advance taken out from the Introduction of the book:
"The Creator of all... has chosen to call every believer into a very special relationship with Himself....personal and very real" ( proved in John 15:16 )
"When this truth grips a person's heart, he or she is never the same again.
Immediately there comes into that life a deep sense of meaning and purpose, and a sense of stewardship, or accountability, to God." (proved in 2 Cor. 5:10-15)
and then a bunch of other verses if you want to submerge yourself deeper!
And here is a NB! the authors are giving as an essential truth for the starting week of the study :
"Without this commitment to encounter God in His Word, one is left
to human reasoning alone–
something that will never lead to God or an understanding of His Word."
My NOTES:
human reasoning VS. encounter with the Author-God
The apostles received a commitment because of their commitment to Jesus. (Acts 16-19)
